5 More Subtle Ways to Honour Hermes

Hello lovelies!

So, today is another Wednesday, which, yes, traditionally is the day associated with Odin, but in Latin-based speaking countries, the day is actually named after Mercury, the Roman version of Hermes. It counts! Because even now, however, amongst pagans and neo-pagans, Hermes is pulling all his multi-layered duties and visiting his worshippers.

Naturally, to show their appreciation, worshippers and witches working with Hermes directly are always looking for ways to honour this god and give him the veneration he deserves. However, many either feel like they don't have the resources, can't afford them, or simply live in an environment where they can't openly practise this kind of worshipping.

Well, lucky for us all! There actually are small, subtle ways in which we can honour our deities without it being obvious and don't break your bank. Remember, the gods can see what you can and can't afford to do. They understand. They aren't unreasonable. As long as you make an effort, they will recognise that. Intention is everything!

So, here's a list!

  1. Donate to a medical organisation. Hermes carries a cadeucus, a universal symbol for medicine. So, supporting endeavours related to this can hel[ you gain his favour.

  2. Take a different to your destination than what you're used to. Hermes is the god of roads, so exploring his domain in a way you are unfamiliar with is something he would approve of.

  3. Take up running. One of Hermes' most defining traits are his winged sandals, which help him in his many duty. Running can simulate this!

  4. Wear colours associated with Hermes. These are mostly blues, greens, blacks, coppers and oranges.

  5. Wear something looking like wings. Coming back to one of Hermes' most iconic symbols, his winged shoes, wearing something with wings, like earrings or a key chain, is a nice way to show your worship of him.

I hope this has been helpful and may Hermes bless you all!
