5 Small Ways to Honour Hermes

Hello lovelies!

So, today is Wednesday, which, yes, traditionally is the day associated with Odin, but in Latin-based speaking countries, the day is actually named after Mercury, the Roman version of Hermes. It counts! Because even now, however, amongst pagans and neo-pagans, Hermes is pulling all his multi-layered duties and visiting his worshippers. On another Wednesday will be the next five!

Naturally, to show their appreciation, worshippers and witches working with Hermes directly are always looking for ways to honour this god and give him the veneration he deserves. However, many either feel like they don't have the resources, can't afford them, or simply live in an environment where they can't openly practise this kind of worshipping.

Well, lucky for us all! There actually are small, subtle ways in which we can honour our deities without it being obvious and don't break your bank. Remember, the gods can see what you can and can't afford to do. They understand. They aren't unreasonable. As long as you make an effort, they will recognise that. Intention is everything!

So, here's a list!

  1. Play a prank! Hermes is a trickster deity through and through, so playing a joke or a prank on someone is definitely something he is going to favour.

  2. Plan a group meeting. Hermes is the god of communication, so creating a scenario here you can connect with those around you and share information is a good ay to honour his duties.

  3. Make a trade. Hermes not only rules communication, but he rules commerce as well. So, trading something invokes one of his many occupations.

  4. Start a dream journal. Hermes pulls a lot of shifts, one of which is guiding dreams to mortals, so starting a journal is a good way to show your appreciation for this job.

  5. Visit a farm. If you can of coure! Hermes is a herdsman, so looking after cattle is yet another of his domains.

I hope this has been helpful and may Hermes bless you all!
