Flower Symbolism #4 Columbine

Writer's picture: Tessa DivendalTessa Divendal

Hello lovelies!

This is a beautiful flower who got the name due to its resemblance of five doves clustered together, with the original Latin name ‘Aquileia’, meaning eagle. Both these names are fitting however, since the energies of both these birds can be found in the symbolism of the flower as well.

The dove, with its positive messages and bright influence, brings with it the meaning of happiness, while its association to religion and purity brings the meanings of God fearing and piety.

The eagle, for its part, with their great capacity for survival and hunting, brings the meanings of fortitude and strength, while with their association to the god Jupiter, it brings the meanings of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and counsel.
