Tree Symbolism #1 Acacia

Hello lovelies!

The Acacia has a close association to the Egyptian god Osiris, ruler of the Underworld who was famously resurrected by being pieced back together by his queen, Isis, after being killed by his brother, Seth. His body was also encased by the Acacia after his death, which magically grew around him, only opening when he came back to life, something that in some stories was said to happen every year.

Because of this, the tree carries with it symbolism of immortality, resurection and renewal.

On top of that, the Acacia represents the pureness of the soul, and how, even after death or in dire circumstances, the soul will never perish, it's an unbreakable part of life, which will remain immortal and, if necessary, resurrect once again in whatever form it chooses to take. This is also why, in this regard, the Acacia can symbolise diligence and fortitude.

It was customary to place an Acacia branch on a person's grave precicely because of this as well, The person was gone, but their soul wasn't. Furthermore, their existence lived on in the memories of those left behind, giving them an additional form of immortality.

This also gives the Acacia the additional symbolism of remembrance.
